Washington State community.

Scholarship recipients will receive their certificates on November 7th at 10:00am during the Washington Hospitality Association State Convention at Hilton Motif Seattle, as part of the meeting of the newly created Latino Chapter within the WHA, which was established to support and develop Latino-owned businesses.
The Seattle Latino Chamber of Commerce offers events focused on the growth of small entrepreneurs.
Seattle Latino Chamber of Commerce and the Washington Hospitality Association join forces to educate and accelerate growth of their membership.
Scholarship recipients will receive admission to the WHA annual conference and to the Gala dinner.
Impact of DoorDash in Washington
DoorDash has had a significant impact in the state of Washington, generating over $1.2 billion in economic activity, which has resulted in more than 16,800 jobs across various sectors. During 2022, merchants in the state achieved sales exceeding $930 million, with a 31% growth in sales for independent merchants from December 2020 to December 2022. Additionally, DoorDash has facilitated more than 720,000 deliveries through its Project DASH, which has helped distribute approximately 11 million meals to communities in need.
This growth has also benefited low-income and minority communities, as 30% of the deliveries made in the state went to consumers in low-income areas, and 37% to communities of color. Dashers in Washington, most of whom are independent contractors, have generated a total of $320 million in earnings, including tips, highlighting the platform’s value for both workers and small business owners alike.
