Achievements and Experience

With more than 14 years of experience in the public and the private sector, Mary Paz Ortiz is the Community Outreach and Research Coordinator at the Seattle Latino Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce (SLMCC) and is responsible for connecting people by creating agreements and cultivating relationships with businesses, individuals, and other relevant organizations, that increase the SLMCC visibility within the surrounding community.

She is experienced in the development and strengthening of inter-institutional relationships as well as the overseeing of international cooperation projects; qualified in management and coordination of high-level meetings; skilled in the design of climate change and sustainable development public policies at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in Mexico.

Education and education

  • Co-author of key climate policy instruments in Mexico, including the Nationally Determined Contribution and the Special Climate Change Programs

 

  • Fellow of the Ministry of the Environment from Japan and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies to take the “JCM workshop-Further understandings of Corresponding Adjustment and Reporting of Article 6 of Paris Agreement and seeking more opportunities with SDGs”, Japan, February 2020.
  • Master’s in International Studies, Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico City.
  • BA in International Relations, Universidad del Valle de México, Mexico City.
